TRANSPORTATION OF OVERSIZED REACTOR AND COOLER UNITS THROUGH RESTRICTED URBAN ROUTE

Managed the transportation of oversized reactor and cooler units through a highly congested urban corridor in Ikorodu, involving complex logistics coordination, infrastructure management, and specialized heavy-haul transport planning. One of the most critical challenges of the operation was the exceptional cargo dimensions, with both units exceeding 5 meters in width and 5 meters in height, requiring extensive route preparation and clearance management prior to movement.

Due to the height of the cargo, the operation required the temporary disconnection of multiple NEPA power lines along the transport route to create sufficient overhead clearance for safe passage. This aspect of the project was carefully coordinated and executed by our team in collaboration with subcontractors and NEPA support personnel to ensure controlled and safe handling of all utility-related activities throughout the movement process.

Given the oversized dimensions and the high-traffic nature of the route, dedicated escort teams and traffic management personnel were deployed to maintain operational safety, control congestion, and protect both the cargo and surrounding road users during transit. The utility disconnection phase of the operation was strategically carried out during nighttime hours to minimize risks associated with transporting such large cargo through densely populated and heavily congested areas.

Extensive route surveys, engineering assessments, and safety planning were conducted prior to execution to ensure the successful movement of both units without damage, incident, or disruption beyond the planned operational scope. The project demonstrated advanced expertise in oversized cargo transportation, utility coordination, and complex urban heavy-haul logistics management.
